Our colleague, Mihaela, the newest member of the Bunnyshell team, also took on the challenge “Looking within to see beyond”. She admitted that even if “oneself” is the topic one should know a lot about, it is not the easiest thing. But, despite getting out of the comfort zone, she learned to blush and bear it. She honestly and enthusiastically wrote about her love for technology, accomplishments, experience and skills.

In the following post, you will meet a person who never gets tired of learning and accepting new challenges. Who never steps back when it comes to exceeding her limits and pushing her boundaries further.

Let’s get to know her better!

Who are you?

I’m Mihaela and I am 23 years old. I just joined Bunnyshell team, after an uber-cool 3 months internship. I am a positive person. That kind of person is shaking away any negative tendencies.  Always focusing on what I can do, not on what I can’t.

What you do?

I am a junior DevOps Engineer. Also, I am an assistant laborant for the course “Introduction to Robotics”, where I teach university students the bases of robotics at the University of Bucharest.

This summer I graduated and I’ve decided to continue my academic journey with a masters in AI. In few words, I work and learn now, so I can relax later.

Why do you do what you do? What drives you to get out of bed every morning and go to work?

Firstly, I think the final result of my work is the thing that drives me to get out of bed every morning. I love technology, I love to work and I love to do things that work. Secondly, I love travelling. And I am lucky! My passion for technology helps me afford my passion for travelling.

How did you get here?

Basically, I didn’t say “NO” to anything.

“Q: Do you want to learn a new technology?R: Yes!’

“Q: Do you want to teach? R: Yes!”

“Q: Do you want to work? R: Yes!”

“Q: Do you want to see a new place? R: Of course!”

“Q: Do you want to sleep? R: ZzzZzz”

Now, seriously, I think life is full of surprises. All you have to do is go with the flow and take advantage of every opportunity.

I rode the wave and woke up here. I love it!

How does your background make you unique?

I used to live in the heart of the forest and then I landed right in the heart of the big city. It was a big change for me and also a challenge.

I’ve learned that being out of my comfort zone is not so scary as I thought it would be. I believe it was something that helped me grow. And what’s better than that? That’s why I think about myself that I can easily adapt to everything new.

In terms of the work you do, what aspects are you most passionate about and why?

I am passionate about technology, innovation and big challenging tasks on my to-do list. That makes me want to learn more and keep up with building something greater than me.

In terms of the work I am doing here at Bunnyshell, I am most passionate about the technologies that we are using. My tasks as a junior DevOps imply working with many bleeding-edge technologies. That involves going through lots of documentation and processes.

Since I started this job here I also improved my research skills. Because I wanted to find more and more about how can I expand my knowledge.

What do you usually do in your free time?

My free time is split between reading, walking in the park, listening to music, visiting new places and preparing for every next lab of Robotics. But, from time to time, I am trying to diversify my activities, and make room for new ones.  For example, recently I started to learn how to swim. So, now I have to make time for the swimming pool too.

Do you know what you’re good at?

I know I am good at what I am doing now. My results can prove it anytime. But, I can say that I am still trying to achieve things I am good at. For example, I hope that one day I will be good at multitasking. I am currently working on that.

What makes you offbeat, interesting, different from the rest?

I am a human of contrasts. Today I am loving every human being, the next day it is possible to want to stay home and not speak to anybody. I have days when I can walk 10 kilometres without getting tired and days when I don’t eat because the kitchen is too far.

I don’t know if this makes me different or just lazy, but I see this as an interesting part of mine.

What makes you human?

I am human because I am ruled by emotions. The choices I make, the actions I take, the perception I have, all these are emotions that influence me at the given moment.

I think experiencing different kinds of emotions, helps you get to know yourself better. That worked very well for me so far.

Tell us something odd or unusual, something most other people wouldn’t say or would be afraid to say.

I am a proud Moldavian girl, but despite the rumours that the Moldavians drink a lot, I can’t drink more than 2 beers.

Actually, being an ambitious Moldavian, I’m thinking right now if I should start to exceed my limits.
